Testimonials
John Munn Victoria: I had to run the brake in a little to get it to bed in nicely. I took the bike up the road and casually grabbed the brake and thought I was going over the handlebars. It was fantastic, I reckon it pulled up better than the set up on a Triumph. I have to say I am really impressed and now have great stopping confidence and the set up looks excellent.
Jim Micah Victoria: i have this twin leading shoe set up on all 3 of my Chiefs. I would NOT go back to original brakes.
Richard Buckingham UK: All fitted and adjusted with wear and tear remedied first road test proved just how much better the twin leading shoe brake set up really is, big improvement and within a short distance of bedding in a new confidence in the stopping capability of the bike. First proper test was the ride outs on the international Indian rally in France in 2018 and it proved most purposeful two up with pillion and day out tools, spare fuel and all.
A further test of the suitability and purposefulness of the Crazy Horse TLS brake was my decision to switch it to my earlier and latest refurb Chief in my 1946 before the 2022 international in Holland. Having gone through the first fit with Chris this one was more straight forward and done at home with a readiness to shim and prepare fender as required. I also learned a bit more about the girder linkage bushing and adjustments on this one as well as sterling head bearing adjustment needs and lubricating which all became part of the job at the time. Again two or three days of ride outs and good range covered with pillion and kit all satisfactorily and with confidence in the front braking proving over a good distance and not just local runs.
Overall I am dead chuffed with the improvement in braking efficiency and stopping power . The twin leading shoe conversion has served its purpose in improving not only the overall braking experience but also in relieving the element of doubt and risk in the forward thinking as I am now riding more to the capability of both the bike and my wits rather than a wing and a prayer.
Paul Pry USA: I purchased the Twin Leading Shoe system for my 1946 Indian Chief in 2018. I was highly impressed with the quality of the system, everything was made first rate. Crazy Horse Indian AU are top notch Excellent people to do business with. Braking was greatly improved! A good investment. (Just wished they made one for my 741)
Barry Emmerson NZ: I recently contacted Crazyhorse Indian Motorcycles & spare parts and purchased a set of Twin Leading Brake Shoes for my 48 Indian Chief. I'm pleased to say they have been great,
The braking would have to be at least double of the STD and getting better the more I use them. In my opinion a good front brake is a must have. I'd recommend these without hesitation as an upgrade for any classic Indian bike.
Mark Mathre USA: As a machinist of 40+ years, I really appreciate the quality of the materials and workmanship that went into crafting such a product.
