This kit is heavy around 11kg for the standard version and 14kg for the hidden battery box etc costs to ship in AUD $ are USA/UK/Canada $250 Japan $200 We no longer ship to Europe due to the excessive red tape created by the EU however we are in Europe normally once per year and a lot of people have friends and relatives in Australia and New Zealand and we will work with you to facilitate supply of our starter kit.
Please also note. This kit will only work with the pre 1947 Kickstarter ratchet type clutch. The new 1948 Indian Chiefs whisper ratchet system will not work with this starter, but the early type can be retrofitted. You need part numbers. 44286 Pinion 928 or 32T) and 41828 Clutch. The system is not currently compatible with drive sprocket sizes less than 21 Teeth.

2/Optional is the hidden battery kit. We no longer include the slide over battery box, most people already have a battery box but we have stock if you want an additional one pls order 188002S.

WOMBAT ELECTRIC START FOR CHIEF The Wombat electric starter kit has been developed in Australia to enable you to start your machine effortlessly. It’s sturdy, simple and rugged. (much like a Wombat). Built tough for the harsh Australian conditions, this unit is the culmination of 5 years of development. Using an electric starter motor from a V6 Toyota hilux there is ample power and torque to start all variants of the Indian Chief motor. The flywheel is made from billet Nickel Steel that is permanently engaged with the starter. A sprag bearing made from EN36 hardened steel and high tensile chain eliminate the backlash and opportunity for backfire damage. The major benefit of this system is the kickstarter is retained for emergencies just in case your battery in not up to the job. Installation to all post war Indian Chiefs 1942-53 can be done by a competent home mechanic with basic skills in around 4 hours. The kit includes everything you need.
